Tim Carlier is a writer and director from Adelaide, Australia. He has directed several short films including Times of Zoe and Farmers, which was nominated for the Dendy award for Best Australian Short film at the Sydney Film Festival and won best Australian film at the Australian Independent Film Awards. In 2023 his first feature film Paco, a surreal comedy about a sound recordist,had its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Since then, it has played at multiple festivals including SXSW Sydney and the Perth Revelation Film Festival.
Besides his work as a director, Tim has also had an extensive career on film productions since 2014, working primarily in the camera department.
In 2019, Tim co-founded the House of Spaghetti collective, with whom he’s written and performed in multiple musical comedies on stage, including classics such as Charles DePooper: A musical and tim&TIM!’s Breakfast at Timothy’s. Under the House of Spaghetti banner Tim has also worked on multiple comedy shorts and the award winning comedy webseries Unturnoffable.
